Who We Are

StartupEdge was founded by a team of entrepreneurs who believe deeply in the power of small business to transform lives and make the world a better place. (Yes, we’re idealists.) We’ve started numerous businesses ourselves, some successful, some not. We started StartupEdge to help others who dare to live the dream of entrepreneurship, while sparing them the hard knocks typically associated with getting into business.

In addition to starting and selling several of our own businesses, we’ve collectively helped thousands of others start, grow and succeed in business in our various roles as small business lawyer, business networking consultant, business coach-consultant, and microenterprise development director.

Through the years, we observed penniless entrepreneurs create a fortune, and heartily-capitalized business go bankrupt. What emerged in the cycle of business startup to business failure was simply a lack of practical, prudent know-how. So we challenged ourselves with the question, “What would be the best way possible to help someone get started in business?” The answer became StartupEdge. We drew from the best possible options for getting into a successful business, looking at the models offered by franchises, direct sales, purchasing existing businesses, and starting from scratch. We added in elements from business incubator and micro-enterprise industry trainings. To top it off, we decided to offer a money back guarantee (unheard of in the industry) to encourage people to take that leap of faith!

“Why would we do all this?” you might ask. After all, we could make more money other ways. If you’re purely cynical, we have no answer.
